"Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm a person-centred counsellor and I offer a warm, accepting space where you can explore whatever life has brought your way. Whether that's anxiety, loss, relationship difficulties, parenthood, burnout, neurodivergence or simply the feeling that life hasn't turned out quite as you expected."

What to expect
• Sessions take place online.
• Each session lasts 50 minutes.
• Sessions are usually held weekly, although we can discuss what works best for you.
• My fee is £55 per session.
• I offer a free 15 minute introductory phone or video call if you'd like to ask questions before booking your first appointment.
• Reduced-fee spaces: I reserve a small number of concessionary appointments for those experiencing financial hardship. Please ask if cost is a barrier to accessing therapy.
I work from a person-centred approach, believing that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, acceptance and curiosity as we explore your experiences together. Where appropriate, I may also incorporate experiential techniques, such as the empty chair or inner child work, to support deeper self-understanding.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to say or where to begin. If something has led you here, that's enough. We can make sense of it together.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll explore what has brought you to counselling, what you're hoping for, and whether we feel like the right fit. There is no pressure to share everything straight away, we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How many sessions will I need?
Every person is different. Some people come for short-term support around a particular issue, while others choose longer-term counselling to explore deeper patterns and experiences. We can review your progress together throughout our work.
Do I need to have a specific problem to come to counselling?
Not at all. Some people come because of anxiety, grief or relationship difficulties, while others simply feel stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of themselves. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Is online counselling effective?
Research suggests that online counselling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy for many people. It also offers the flexibility to access support from the comfort of your own home.
Is everything confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of counselling. Everything you share will remain confidential unless I have concerns about your safety or someone else's safety, or where I am required to disclose information by law. I'll always explain this fully before we begin working together.
What happens if I need to cancel?
I ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged in full.
How do I know if you're the right counsellor for me?
Finding the right counsellor is important. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so you can ask any questions and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
